LIZ BURVILLE
SUCCESSFULLY TRAINING STUDENTS FOR OVER 20 YEARS
The Liz Burville Performing Arts Centre has been training children and young people in Musical Theatre, Dance, Drama and Singing for over 20 years. The fully equipped studios in Bexley have been the Home to many successful Professional performers and teachers.
The Liz Burville Performing Arts Centre is under the personal supervision of Teacher/Choreographer and ISTD and Trinity Guildhall Examiner Liz Burville. Liz first opened her school with less than 30 pupils on the register. And over 20 years on, and with many ex-pupils now performing and teaching in their own right, the school looks set to continue for the next 20 years!
The Liz Burville Performance Teams have successfully competed and performed all around the world. As well as visiting the USA last year, in April 2007 they competed at The International Dance Awards in Barcelona, where over 65 countries around the world including America and China were represented. We came away with no less than three awards- for Most Promising Young Dancer, Best Teacher for 16 years and Under and the most prestigious prize we could imagine The Grand Prix for 16 years and under! The Performance Teams were able to show off their skills this Easter too, as in April 2010, they joined a cruise liner MSC Musica, in Venice and performed for the 2000 strong cruise ship audience on board on a fantastic cruise around the Greek Islands, Italy and Croatia!
Children are entered for ISTD and Trinity Guildhall examinations at the discretion of their teachers. We have always been very proud of our children who have achieved some outstanding examination results over the years.
LBPAC is renown for its excellent Productions, in recent years a full-scale musical has been presented at numerous different venues including The Orchard Theatre, The Stag Theatre Sevenoaks, The Mick Jagger Centre Dartford and most recently at the Bob Hope Theatre, Eltham. Previous musicals include Annie, Peter Pan A Rock Fantasy, Disco Inferno and Billy Elliot. Our 2011 musical will be Seussical the Musical a delightful musical about the fantastic tales of Dr Seuss!
Pupils are encouraged to get involved with our Annual Choreographic and Performing Arts Competition and many social events are organised throughout the year including Firework Nights, Disco Parties and Quiz and Race Nights. Parents are encouraged to get actively involved with the goings-on at LBPAC as there is always something exciting about to happen!
